Strategic Planning That Moves with Your Mission

A facilitated process that helps your organization name where it’s going, why it matters, and how you’ll get there.

Most nonprofits know they need a strategic plan. Fewer know how to build one that gets used.

At Liggins Abrams Consulting, strategic planning is a working document, not a binder that sits on a shelf. It's built through honest conversation, real stakeholder input, and a clear-eyed look at where your organization stands today.

What the Process Looks Like

Every engagement is scoped to your organization, but the general arc holds:

  • Discovery and assessment. Stakeholder interviews, surveys, document review, and an environmental scan, so we understand your current reality before we plan your future one.

  • Planning sessions. Facilitated sessions with your board, leadership team, or full staff to define mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

  • Mission Statement, Vision Statement, & Values review and refresh (if needed).

  • Plan development. A written plan with goals, strategies, and measurable indicators.

  • Implementation support (optional). A full implementation guide (action plan with timeline, sequencing, assigned responsibility owner) and/or coaching to keep your team accountable after the plan is done.

Who This Is For

Organizations that are approaching or past the end of their current plan, navigating a leadership transition or a growth phase, preparing for a capital campaign or a large grant application, or just ready to stop reacting and start leading with intention.

Investment

Strategic planning is offered in two core packages, $12,000 and $18,000, for organizations with annual budgets over $250,000. Which package fits depends on the scope of what's included for your organization.

New nonprofits have their own package, starting at $7,500.

Smaller nonprofits with budgets under $250,000 receive discounted pricing on the core packages. Full details are available on our pricing sheet, available on request.

All packages are fixed-fee, so you know your investment before we begin. Packages cover the strategic planning process itself and the completed strategic plan. The written action plan is a separate add-on, along with any other customizations, so scope stays clear from the start.

My board can only commit to a one day retreat. Can that work?

Most strategic planning engagements run three to six months, however, in some circumstances I can build out a plan centered on a retreat session.
